The Sugarcane Plantation
A powerful testimony to the rich history of the antebellum south, Oak Alley invites visitors to explore all facets of her plantation past. The Slavery at Oak Alley exhibit, Civil War exhibit, Sugarcane Theater and Big House offer an experience as compelling as the plantation’s 25 historic acres and 300 year old alley of oaks.

Laura Plantation Tour
The Laura Plantation near New Orleans is considered by many in the tourism industry as the most historical plantation tour in the Mississippi River Valley. The plantation was run by four Creole women, the most notable of whom was Laura, from where the plantation gets its name. For over 60 years the plantation was run using slave labor, which provides this tour a unique view into some of the original slave cabins from the 1840s and the conditions they survived in.
At the plantation where you will be given a guided tour of the Laura Plantation House and grounds including the history of the estate a walk through of the 200-year-old sugar plantation homestead. On the grounds there are 12 buildings on the National Register and 3 unique gardens.
